What is PNC-27?

PNC-27 is a synthetic peptide composed of a 12-amino acid sequence derived from the HDM-2 binding domain of p53, linked to a cell-penetrating peptide . It is designed to induce apoptosis in cancer cells while sparing normal cells .

PNC-27 has emerged as a promising molecular tool for investigating p53-mediated apoptosis, cancer cell targeting, and oncological research models .

Mechanism of Action

PNC-27 functions through multiple pathways to support cancer research models:

p53 Activation

Restores p53 tumor suppressor function in cancer cells

Apoptosis Induction

Triggers programmed cell death specifically in cancer cells

Cell Penetration

Crosses cell membranes to deliver p53 sequence intracellularly

PNC-27 demonstrates cancer-selective cytotoxicity, inducing apoptosis in cancer cells while leaving normal cells unaffected .

Research Applications

Cancer Research

p53 pathway studies, apoptosis mechanisms, cancer cell targeting

Drug Development

Peptide-based therapeutics, targeted cancer treatments

Cell Penetration Studies

Intracellular delivery mechanisms, cell-penetrating peptide research

Tumor Suppressor Research

p53 restoration, tumor suppression mechanisms

Clinical Studies

Key Research Findings:

  • PNC-27 demonstrates cancer-selective cytotoxicity in preclinical studies
  • Induces apoptosis in cancer cells through p53 pathway restoration
  • Spares normal cells while targeting cancer cells
  • Cell-penetrating peptide delivery enables intracellular targeting

Safety & Precautions

Do not use if you:

  • Are allergic to PNC-27 or any components
  • Are pregnant or breastfeeding

Storage Instructions:

  • Lyophilized: Store at -20°C (-4°F) long-term
  • After reconstitution: Refrigerate at 2-8°C (35.6-46.4°F)
  • Avoid freeze-thaw cycles after reconstitution

Warning: If you experience severe allergic reactions, difficulty breathing, or signs of anaphylaxis, seek immediate medical help.
