Cartalax Research Information

Cartilage Support Peptide

Tetrapeptide Bioregulator for Cartilage Research

Important: This information is for educational and research purposes only. Always consult with a qualified healthcare professional before use.

What is Cartalax?

Cartalax is a synthetic tetrapeptide bioregulator with the amino acid sequence Ala-Glu-Asp-Gly (AEDG). It is a short-chain peptide with a molecular weight of 417 Da (C₁₅H₂₃N₅O₈).

Cartalax is derived from research into short peptides with tissue-specific regulatory activity on cartilage tissue. It has emerged as a promising molecular tool for investigating chondrocyte biology, extracellular matrix synthesis, and cartilage repair mechanisms in research models.

Mechanism of Action

Cartalax functions through multiple pathways to support cartilage research models:

Chondrocyte Regulation

Modulates chondrocyte proliferation and differentiation pathways

Extracellular Matrix

Stimulates synthesis of collagen type II and proteoglycan components

DNA Interaction

Modulates gene expression through DNA-binding and endonuclease modulation

Research Applications

Cartilage Repair

Investigating peptide-mediated regeneration of articular cartilage tissue

Osteoarthritis Research

Studying disease-modifying potential in OA models

Intervertebral Disc

Researching disc degeneration and repair mechanisms

Gene Expression Studies

Mapping signaling cascades and transcription factor regulation

Clinical Studies

Key Research Findings:

  • Clinical research has demonstrated that Cartalax peptides positively influence metabolic processes in chondrocytes
  • Enhanced cartilage tissue repair and extracellular matrix regeneration
  • Improved functional outcomes in joint models with cartilage degradation
  • Research suggests potential for reducing inflammation and promoting cartilage homeostasis
