What is AOD9604?

AOD9604 is a synthetic peptide fragment of the C-terminus of human growth hormone (Tyr-hGH177-191) that harbors the fat-reducing activity of hGH without its negative effects. It is a hexadecapeptide consisting of 16 amino acids with the sequence YLRIVQCRSVEGSCGF.

Unlike full-length growth hormone, AOD9604 does not act via IGF-1 and has no effect on insulin resistance or glucose intolerance, making it a promising research compound for metabolic studies. AOD9604 is available in pen and freeze-dried vial formulations for research purposes.

How AOD9604 Works

AOD9604 works through multiple mechanisms to influence fat metabolism:

Lipolysis

Stimulates the breakdown of fat in adipocytes

Lipogenesis Inhibition

Inhibits the transformation of non-fat materials into body fat

Non-IGF-1 Action

Does not act via IGF-1, avoiding growth hormone side effects

AOD9604 directly stimulates lipolysis and inhibits lipogenesis without affecting appetite or blood sugar levels.

Research Applications

Weight Management

Investigating fat reduction and body composition in obesity research

Lipid Metabolism

Studying fatty acid oxidation and lipid regulation pathways

Cartilage & Bone

Exploring regenerative properties and cartilage repair

Metabolic Research

Investigating glucose metabolism and insulin sensitivity

Clinical Studies

Phase 2b Trial (METAOD005)

  • 300 obese patients received oral AOD9604 (1, 5, 10, 20 or 30 mg) or placebo daily for 12 weeks
  • The 1mg dose group lost an average of 2.8 kg, more than triple the placebo group (0.8 kg)
  • Rate of weight loss was maintained throughout the treatment period

Safety Profile

  • No effect on serum IGF-1 levels, confirming non-IGF-1 action
  • No anti-AOD9604 antibodies detected in any patients
  • No negative effects on carbohydrate metabolism or insulin resistance
  • Safety profile indistinguishable from placebo

️ Safety & Precautions

AOD9604 has shown a very good safety and tolerability profile indistinguishable from placebo in clinical trials. It does not result in any of the adverse effects associated with full-length hGH treatment.

  • No effect on serum IGF-1 levels
  • No negative effects on carbohydrate metabolism or insulin resistance
  • No anti-AOD9604 antibodies detected
  • No dose-limiting toxicities or serious adverse events reported

Do not use if you:

  • Are allergic to AOD9604 or any ingredients
  • Are pregnant or breastfeeding
  • Have pre-existing medical conditions (consult a healthcare professional first)

️ Warning: If you experience severe allergic reactions, difficulty breathing, or signs of anaphylaxis, seek immediate medical help.
